Each model in the latest 2200 Series (2023 onward) features high plunger speeds, an extra row of pickup tines for increased intake, and a fully integrated hydraulic system for density control and knotter blowers.
Standard equipment includes electronic bale length control, air brakes, and redesigned axles to accommodate a variety of tyre sizes for optimal field performance.
Additionally, all balers come equipped with a selectable bale ejector, roller chute, hydraulic knotter blower, and automatic lubrication for both knotters and drive chains—ensuring smooth operation and reduced maintenance.
With an extended bale chamber on select models for improved bale shape and density, the 2200 Series is engineered to meet the demands of modern high-output baling.

The MF 2240 produces 0.8m x 0.7m bales, the smallest format ideal for equestrian operations and small livestock farms.

Big Bale South offers a comprehensive baler hire service, providing both new and used Massey Ferguson balers for the entire baling season.
Our flexible rental agreements ensure you have the right equipment when you need it, without the long-term commitment of ownership.
With no limits on usage or bale output, you can operate with confidence, knowing your costs upfront.
Hirers are responsible only for consumable parts such as tines and shear bolts etc, as well as operator-related damage and tyre damage.
All hired balers come with a manufacturer’s warranty supplied by Big Bale South, giving you peace of mind throughout the season.
Operator training courses are also available to ensure you get the most out of your machine.

Deposit on all machines is £4,000 + VAT with the balance paid with 3 equal payments on 25th June, 25th July & 25th August.
Machines that are on our hire fleet will be organised through a finance company.
If you decided to buy the baler you have hired, on a “sold as seen” basis, by 25th September, we would offer 60% rebate of your hire fee against the purchase price of the machine as stated at the beginning of the hire period.
Operator courses available.
All balers have a manufacturer’s warranty supplied by Big Bale Co (south) Ltd. (Warranty terms & conditions provided prior to ordering).
3 year hires are available. A three year hire will fix the hire fee for the entire period, it will save on haulage as the baler will stay at your premises.
We will travel to you to service the machine, you get to keep the same machine for the duration.
The three year hire is organised through a finance company, where you can arrange your annual payment terms to suit your business, last payment needs to be by 25th August in the 3rd year of hire.
Delivery & collection are charged extra.
Financial penalties will apply if any hire agreement is terminated before conclusion by the hirer.

By monitoring bale weight in real time, operators can adjust key variables such as plunger load and forward speed, ensuring consistency and efficiency in every bale.
Enhance performance and durability with radial tyre upgrades for MF 2200 series balers. For 2023 models onward, the standard 600/50-22.5 cross-ply tyres can be replaced with 620/50 R-22.5 radial tyres, maintaining the original baler width.
For models up to and including 2022, the standard 500/45-22.5 cross-ply tyres can be upgraded to 620/40 R-22.5 radials, increasing the overall width by approximately 200mm.
Make hitching and unhitching your baler effortless with the 80mm Ball Hitch Coupling. Designed for secure and efficient attachment, this upgrade improves stability and ease of use.
A spacer may be required to maintain the correct PTO length distance measurement.
