Massey Ferguson Flywheel Shearbolts – XD Models
The flywheel shearbolt is the sacrificial overload protection component in the XD driveline, engineered to shear at a precise load threshold when a plunger obstruction or driveline overload event occurs — protecting the flywheel, clutch assembly and main driveline from significantly more costly damage. Supplied as a pack of 10 complete with nuts.
Grade specification is critical — never substitute with a higher or lower grade bolt, as this will alter the shear threshold and either prevent a clean shear under overload or cause premature shearing under normal operating loads. After any shear event, inspect the shear sleeve (700146994) and flywheel hub seating surfaces for deformation before fitting replacement bolts.
