Massey Ferguson Flywheel Shear Sleeve – XD Models Only

The flywheel shear sleeve is the sacrificial interface component in the flywheel overload protection system. Under a plunger obstruction or driveline overload event, the sleeve is engineered to shear the bolt at a precise load threshold — protecting the flywheel, clutch assembly and main driveline from damage that would otherwise result in significantly more costly repairs.

After any shear event, inspect the sleeve seating surface and flywheel hub for deformation before fitting a replacement sleeve and shearbolt. Reusing a deformed sleeve will prevent a clean shear at the correct load threshold, defeating the purpose of the overload protection system.
