After decades of success across the UK and Europe, Big Bale South is proud to announce our official expansion into Canada. It’s an exciting new chapter for us, and we’re thrilled to see our Transtackers already working hard in the vast Canadian prairies.
We’ve recently delivered several Transtackers to Canada and are actively partnering with Raul Van Asch, our local contact who brings deep knowledge of the region’s agriculture. The response so far? Encouraging, to say the least. Canadian farmers have been quick to recognise the value of efficient bale handling, and interest continues to grow.
Canada’s agriculture is vast and diverse, but the prairie provinces in particular, are characterised by flat, open fields that stretch for miles. Large-scale grain operations dominate, and with that comes significant volumes of straw to harvest, stack, and transport, often across long distances.
It’s not uncommon for bales to sit for days or weeks due to limited labour, time constraints, or logistical hurdles. This leads to bottlenecks and, in some cases, wasted material. That’s exactly where the Transtacker and its lighter counterpart, the Hunter come into play.
Our machines are built to handle high-density, large square bales quickly and efficiently. With just one operator, a Transtacker can pick up bales, stack them in the field, and transport them in one seamless cycle. For Canadian farmers facing labour shortages, time pressure, and massive acreage, a fleet of Transtackers and Hunters offers a scalable, reliable solution that’s both cost-effective and time-saving.
Can You Spot It?
This photo says it all — somewhere on this seemingly endless prairie, a Transtacker is hard at work. The field is so vast and flat that the machine nearly disappears into the horizon. It’s a perfect snapshot of the kind of scale Canadian agriculture operates on — and exactly the kind of challenge the Transtacker was built to tackle.
It’s a fun reminder of just how much ground there is to cover out here — and how important it is to have the right equipment for the job.
To introduce Transtackers to the new market, we’ve been taking part in some of Canada’s premier agricultural events:
Looking Ahead
Our foundation may be in the UK, but Big Bale South machines have long had a presence across Europe. Now, with Canadian Transtackers already in the field and more on the way, we’re proud to be planting roots on a new continent.
If you’re attending Ag in Motion this July, stop by our booth 566 to see a Transtacker up close, meet our team, and learn more about how we’re helping Canadian farmers turn a tough job into a streamlined operation.
